Bilingual (English/Spanish) Therapeutic Visitation Clinician

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Therapeutic Visitation Clinician to work a Wednesday - Sunday schedule (Wednesday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm).



The Therapeutic Visitation Clinician is responsible for facilitating court-ordered therapeutic supervised visits between non-custodial parents and their children in an effort to develop and/or enhance the emotional bond between the parent and children and to facilitate healing in their relationships with one another. Responsibilities include: conducting intake interviews, facilitating therapeutic supervised visits and exchanges, coaching parents on issues of access, visitation and parenting, facilitating Parent Education workshops, writing visit notes and summary reports, recording data in databases, and making referrals for needed services.



Additional responsibilities include providing supervision to a master's level social work student, facilitation of debriefings with child welfare staff after critical incidents, and co-facilitation of Safe Touches child sexual abuse prevention workshops with K-3rd grade students.


LMSW or equivalent and New York State licensure required. New graduates will have six months to obtain their license after hire. Two to five years of experience working with high conflict families, an understanding of the complexities of divorce/separation, the custody and visitation process, the child welfare process including child abuse and neglect, mental health and substance abuse issues, and sound clinical judgment are essential. Fluency in Spanish required.



Salary: Low $60K's commensurate with experience.

Program Director - Full Time Safe Passage Center for Supervised Visitation and Monitored

Anticipated Hire Date: October 2, 2017

Family Services, Inc. seeks to hire a full time Program Director to coordinate the development, launch and continuing operation of the new Safe Passage Center for Supervised Visitation and Monitored Exchange in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Safe Passage Center will be funded by Montgomery County DHHS and we anticipate that services will begin in December 2017. The Center will operate 28 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends, and offer a safe and neutral setting for high- conflict parents to exchange or visit with their children.

Major duties include:
- Responsible to develop and implement policy and procedures for all aspects of Center operations and ensure compliance with security protocols and the Supervised Visitation Network's best practices and guidelines.

- Establish and follow protocols to accept and review Court Ordered referrals sent to the Safe Passage Center, and conduct separate intake and orientation interviews with each parent to collect necessary information. Arrange for language interpretation as necessary. Serve as chief liaison and contact person with Montgomery County Courts.

- Ensure that the Safe Passage Center is open for up to 28 hours per week according to an established schedule that includes evening and weekend hours. The Program Director will be available to oversee safe exchanges and supervised visits with non-custodial parents.

- Ensure adequate staffing for scheduled appointments. Provide direct supervision to the Administrative Assistant, three Visitation Observers and volunteers, including comprehensive orientation and ongoing training. Coordinate the scheduling and orientation of security officers.

Minimum requirements:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field, master's level clinical degree is preferred. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in the supervised visitation field, or equivalent training. Must have direct supervisory experience and have worked with at risk families and/or domestic violence survivors. Bilingual ability preferred, but not required.
